  • Myopia Management

Myopia (nearsightedness) is becoming more common in children, and it can worsen as they grow. Myopia management focuses on slowing the progression of nearsightedness to help protect your child’s long-term eye health. Using customized treatment options such as orthokeratology, specialty contact lenses, glasses, pharmaceuticals and advanced technology, we create a personalized plan to help reduce the risk of future vision problems. Early treatment can make a big difference—our goal is to help your child see clearly today while safeguarding their vision for tomorrow.

  • Eye Exams

Why Have an Eye Exam? An Optometrist Can Find & Treat Problems Early During an eye exam at Advanced Eyecare of Chino Optometry, Dr. Jay Chao will conduct tests using a variety of instruments in order to evaluate your vision. You may be asked to look through different lenses and read the letters you see. Your eyes may be briefly subjected to bright lights. A small burst of air may be directed at your eye, in order to measure its intraocular or internal pressure. None of the tests are painful, and all of them are important. Their results will help Dr. Chao detect any eye problems you may have, including diseases. Getting examined by an optometrist regularly increases the likelihood that conditions will be diagnosed at an early stage, when treatment will be most effective. It is important to remember that not all vision problems have symptoms. Only an eye exam can provide a thorough, detailed evaluation of your eye health.

  • Contact Lenses | Hybrid Contacts

Are Hybrid Contact Lenses Right for You? Your View Is Our Vision In the last decade, a new type of contact lens has been added to the optometrist’s toolkit – one that can make a big difference in the lives of people with certain kinds of vision problems. Hybrid contact lenses consist of a rigid gas permeable lens surrounded by a soft lens skirt. They are available in several versions, some of which can correct several vision problems at once. Hybrid contact lenses might be a good fit for you if you have: Corneal scarring or transplants Astigmatism Both presbyopia & astigmatism Keratoconus (a condition in which the clear tissue in the cornea gets thin & bulges outward) Extreme dry eyes A history of Radial Keratotomy (RK) eye surgery Other people who may benefit from hybrid contact lenses include those who are already wearing soft or multifocal lenses and who: Want better vision. Experience lens rotation. Would like a more comfortable lens.

  • Contact Lenses | Scleral Lenses

Achieve Clear Vision with Scleral Lenses at Advanced Eyecare of Chino Optometry Unveiling the World of Scleral Lenses Scleral lenses are a revolutionary vision correction solution, uniquely designed to cover the entire corneal surface and rest on the sclera, or white part of the eye. This innovative design distinguishes scleral lenses from traditional contact lenses, offering a stable, comfortable fit, especially for those with corneal irregularities or severe dry eye syndrome. At Advanced Eyecare of Chino Optometry, we specialize in providing individualized scleral lens fittings to enhance your vision and comfort effortlessly.

  • Diabetic Eyecare

Vision Care for Diabetics We Can Detect Problems Early With an Annual Eye Exam If you have diabetes, it is important to schedule regular visits with your eye doctor. High blood sugar can cause a number of serious eye conditions, such as cataracts, glaucoma and retinopathy. Regular eye exams at Advanced Eyecare of Chino Optometry can help detect problems early, and proper treatment may prevent them from progressing to a more severe stage.

  • Orthokeratology

Special Contact Lenses Correct Your Vision While You Sleep Orthokeratology (otherwise known as Ortho-K) is a way to correct vision temporarily, using gas-permeable contact lenses that you wear overnight. They reshape your cornea to improve your vision by reducing the effects of conditions like myopia, astigmatism and hyperopia. These special lenses press lightly on the corneas of your eyes as you sleep, gradually reshaping them so that you wake up with better vision. The effects can last up to 72 hours.
